Family Requirements
Do you know that EHRC has no requirement for time spent on campus, but does have a requirement that weekly contact be made with a certificated teacher? Do you know how many hours you must school your child each week? Find this out, and much more, with the following information for New Families.
Provisional 90-days
A parent or legal guardian-
- must be on campus with their student(s) during the first 90-days of enrollment.
- must sign in the main office when their student(s) is on campus during this time
- must attend the mandatory Getting Started class - see the main office for date and time.
Weekly Contact
You must make weekly contact with a certificated teacher during your childs first 90 days at EHRC. If your child is registered in a class taught by a certificated teacher this meets that requirement. If your child is not enrolled in a class with a certificated instructor, then he/she will be enrolled in a “Weekly Contact” class under an WSLP teacher. You’ll need to contact that specific teacher weekly. This contact can be via email, phone or in person, and must be related to a learning activity.
Schedule your first WSLP appointment
Your Written Student Learning Plan or WSLP is where you document learning activities, resources and progress for your child’s homeschooling and EHRC classes/activities. One of the first things you must do upon entering our program is make an appointment to meet with a WSLP advisor to review your plan. You need to have this meeting within the first 20 days of enrollment.

Document Hours
As outlined in Edmonds School District Board Policies, students need to have a Student Sample Schedule filled out each semester they are enrolled. This schedule is completed online from your family page. The schedule includes Saturday and Sunday, as many families do homeschooling activities on the weekend. Please keep in mind that this is a sample schedule of a week within each semester. The subject areas identified in your WSLP must also be reflected in your “sample schedule”. The total hours required at the top of the schedule will be less for part-time and Running Start students than for full-time students meeting the normal requirements. Questions or concerns may be directed to the office or your WSLP Advisor.
